As winter finally fades and the first signs of spring come to life, it’s time to give our wardrobes a fresh upgrade.

As a personal stylist, I’m always on the lookout for key pieces for the upcoming season, but as well as looking for hot new trends, I like to invest in pieces that I know will serve both mine and my clients’ wardrobes for years to come.

The New Balance 2002R has certainly made an impact in the fashion industry and is anticipated to continue its streak in spring 2024. This sneaker, loved by many, fuses functionality with style, offering a great alternative to traditional sneakers without compromising on the comfort – this is key for me.
I’ve been wearing my 2002R’s for about six months solid, and it takes a really good alternative to prise them off my feet! They’re probably the most comfortable pair of sneakers I’ve worn, and they offer an urban casual edge to any outfit, which I love!
The silhouette of the 2002R is reminiscent of classic sneakers, drawing on New Balance’s rich heritage, but with a contemporary twist, so whether you’re headed to the gym or a casual brunch, these sneakers can effortlessly elevate your style.

Axel Arigato Marathon Runner
Next on our list is a sneaker that beautifully fuses Scandi minimalism with retro running aesthetics – the Axel Arigato Marathon Runner.

It’s a shoe that has well and truly solidified its place within so many of our capsule wardrobes for good reason.
These sneakers originally launched in 1968 as an all-round sports shoe, have transitioned into the modern fashion scene with a bang. Whilst they maintain their traditional look, they offer a contemporary touch, creating a perfect blend of old and new that appeals to so many style personalities.
What makes the Adidas Originals Gazelle stand out for me is its bold simplicity. The design is stripped back to basics, with a sleek silhouette that prioritises comfort without compromising on style, but with impactful colour-ways, it offers a dichotomy of dramatic but uncomplicated.
My advice is to size up at least a half size, as the sneakers themselves are very slim, and that extra bit of room will add a lot in terms of comfort.
I invested in a pair of green Gazelles last year and it’s no secret to anyone who knows me that they’ve been worn within an inch of their lives!
This extensive colour range means that there is a Gazelle to match every outfit, mood and style personality.
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High Tops
A design that has seen decades come and go, yet maintains its unwavering popularity, the Chuck Taylor All Stars are anticipated to be everywhere this spring season.
Initially conceived as basketball shoes, a good old pair of Converse are now considered a staple to so many.
There’s nothing a Converse won’t work with, fact. Whether you’re dressing down tailored trousers, pairing them with your favourite jeans, or teaming them with a dress and denim jacket in the warmer weather – they just work, time after time.
We all know that the colour options for Converse are pretty much never ending. And not only can you find a broad range of colours, patterns, fabrics, and styles, but you can also customise them too.
If you’re looking to find that one pair of sneakers that you can wear day after day, with anything in your wardrobe, I recommend investing in a pair of black and white classic Converse and going from there. You won’t be disappointed!
