Gymwear to Get you Motivated

Gymwear to Get you Motivated

It’s that time of year where we’re all looking to get healthy and find ourselves signing up for a gym membership, but struggling to find motivation to actually go.

I personally think the best way to get excited to workout is to put on a fresh new gymwear set and feel good before you’ve even set foot in the gym.
Here are a few things I’m investing in to help me look and feel good day-to-day, but also give me some confidence and motivation when it comes to getting myself moving!

Bright Colours to Energise Your Workouts

If you feel intimidated by the gym, or you don’t feel in the right mindframe to get going, adding colourful pieces to your gymwear might be the way to go.
Vibrant shades like rich red and a bold blue stands out and boosts your mood, which is exactly what you need before tackling the gym. Even if you typically stick to neutral colours, adding a pop of bright colour with your sports bra, socks, or a cap will make your outfit feel on trend and give you that little boost without feeling over the top.

Layered Tops for Style and Function

A big barrier for me when it comes to working out is being cold. It takes a lot for me to leave the lovely central heating and brave the cold to get to a fitness class.
Layering is a great way to tackle this and keep warm, while also adding interest to your gym look. Start with a fitted gym tank or sports bra, then add a light tee or wrap top that you can take off when you warm up. Adding a half zip, or sweatshirt is ideal for the colder months, and are items I wear all the time, making them incredibly versatile.

Activewear That Works All Day

One of the biggest shifts in gymwear over the last few years is how well it fits into everyday life, and this is perfect for me, because it means getting ready fo the gym doesn’t have to feel as foreign as it once did.
Putting on leggings, a sports bra and a half zip is my general go-to, so when it comes to working out, I’m actually always dressed for the occasion, and already feel comfortable and happy in what I’m wearing, even if the spin class I’ve booked in is scary!
Pieces that perform in the gym but look good with a jacket layered over for running errands and going on coffee dates are the items I’m investing in now. It’s not just about feeling good, but also about getting more wear out of what you buy, so look for leggings or tops that can double as comfy but stylish pieces when you’re not working out.
Hopefully these tips will help you to feel a bit more confident and comfortable if one of your goals this year is to get moving and become the pilates girl you’ve always wanted to be!
